Trouble And Money #16

Alex was settled into the show and did not hear or see the man cross his front yard. The man stepped up to the window, and he looked in.

Trouble And Money #16

A Metal Warehouse Building in Southern New Hampshire.

The warehouse was not far from where the gang had boosted the truck.

“He was a nice guy, and I’m glad we didn't have to hurt him.” Said Marla Kinney.

“He gave us his jacket,” she added.

Lisa Kinney, the other woman on the highway, said, “He was also good enough to give us his truck.”

Travis, Maria, and Lisa laughed out loud as they sat in the steel building’s office.

Scott was using an electronic sweeper to check the truck for tags and anything that might indicate its location.

Travis tossed Jackson’s cell phone out the window onto the highway on his way back to the warehouse. He thought to himself, ‘ He was lucky he found that.’

When the crew lifted the door of the truck's trailer, the roll-up echoed because it was at most an eighth full.

Ten custom wooden crates were at the front of the box, closest to the cabin. They didn't weigh much; you could lift each crate with one hand.

“We will get 20 million dollars for this one shipment?" Travis asked incredulously.

“What are they?

“Some part for missiles. I think it has to do with navigation and stabilization.”

“The shop they were picked up makes three key parts that make the whole package work.”

“How much of a cut are we giving the insider?” Travis asked.

“Let me worry about that,” Lisa said.

Alex Villeneuve was enjoying a third beer while watching a documentary about Gaby Petito on Netflix.

He was also planning his vacation to Portugal: two weeks of golf, good food, and lots of sun. The five hundred thousand he earned just for information will buy a lot of Super Bock.

Alex was settled into the show and did not hear or see the man cross his front yard. The man stepped up to the window, and he looked in.

He could see Alex sitting on the sofa. This will require three taps thought the trained shooter.

He raised the silenced pistol and aimed through the glass. The gun coughed three times, and Alex died during the first commercial break of the documentary.

I looked at her and flashed the blues.

“So Tam. I need a favor.” I said.

“Would you mind staying here for a few weeks and caring for Gator?” If it’s an inconvenience, I can kennel him.”

She snuggled close and said, “I would love to take care of that sweet boy.”

You could hear Gator’s tail thumping on the floor in the dark.

“Where are you going?” Tammy asked.

“Tammy, here comes the hardest part of the job…”

“I can't say where I am going.”

“Are you going on vacation with some other woman?” She asked.

“That happened to a friend of mine.”

“I squeezed her hard and laughed. “I promise you this is all work and no play.”

“I also promise I would never do that to you.”

I mean, why would I jeopardize my source for homemade pot roast? Plus, Gator loves you.”

“Both of those things are important to me.”

She punched me in the chest, we started to kiss, and then…well, you know.
